Electro house two-man team hailing from France taking over Mission Ballroom? The comparisons were inevitable: Justice to the mythic & iconic Daft Punk. But with the release of their new album Neverender, Justice took a massive step into their own lane imo. Their new record blends that synth-heavy, French funk sound wit new wave and indie rock from artists like Tame Impala and The Flints.
Look mate if I get a good night sleep, I’m not that short a guy, but it felt like a craaaazy tall turn out for this show. I’m sure the visuals were dope, but I could barely tell you what they looked like behind the sea of 6’6″ ravers in front of me soooo, as far as I know it was a lot of bright, flashing LEDs. Wish I had more to report on here.

May not’ve been able to see much of the show, but zero problems hearing and feeling. I just bought some of those “concert plugs” for next week cause my ears are still ringin from all those heavvvy saw waves lol. “Genesis” was obvious choice for a set opener, and from there it was all gas/no brakes. My favorite track of the night was this Mannequin Love X We Are Your Friends edit they imbued with a sick new groove. I know the We Are Your Friends movie had a ridiculous plot development and ending, but clearly I wasn’t the only one that still enjoyed it anyway cause “WE! – ARE! – YOUR FRIENDS!” was the only audible crowd chant of the night.
Initially I thought it was kinda wack they played “Neverender,” the title track off their new album, 30 mins into the show. I feel like common practice for artists to whip out recent bangers closer to the end, but the encore fully explained that creative decision. They shelled out a 15-minute, high-energy, rapid-fire mashup of what felt like half their discography, that felt like an awesome synopsis of the show. “But wait there’s more,” just when they hit this nice crescendo, they KEEP going with a breakdown finale in half-time to wave goodbye. Merci beaucoup legends, an absolute experience open to close.
