Cirque du Soleil Brings Corteo to Loveland

Cirque du Soleil once again graced Colorado, this time bringing their show, Corteo, to the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland, CO, for a four-day engagement. The production caravan, consisting of 21 trucks, rolled into town on a Tuesday, dedicating a whopping 19 hours to unload and set up an elaborate stage and all the magic that comes with it. The wardrobe itself took up all the space in nearly two semi-trailers!

I had the privilege of partaking in a behind-the-scenes tour led by the Tour Manager, offering a sneak peek into the meticulous preparations before opening night. Stepping into the stage area, I witnessed awe-inspiring scenes – performers gracefully swinging from the rafters, flipping on the bars, executing solo and synchronized acts with pure, sublime precision. Behind the curtains, a high traffic of activity unfolded as crew members from varied departments diligently worked on setting up and repairing props, sewing and perfecting wardrobe, meticulously polishing shoes, ensuring that every detail was ready for showtime.

As curtain call approached, the stage illuminated, signaling the beginning of such an eagerly anticipated show. The audience, comfortably settled, was composed and ready to embark on a remarkable journey of entertainment. The venue was charged with excitement as the performance was about to unfold into a night that promised a captivating and unforgettable experience.
