Well Day 1 of Global Dance Fest is in the books – and what a day it was!
Not only did the weather cooperate at first, it seemed like all the bassheads from all over the world hit the Empower Field/Mile High stadium for the 20th year of this amazing event. DJ’s from acts like Faybl, Haliene, Deorro, Lost Kings, Alan Walker and KX5 tore up the Summit stage. Kareem Martin, Joshwa and Walker and Royce hit the Amazon stage and guys like Sodown and Bear Grillz finished it up at the Northern Lights stage.

As usual the Colorado weather was a factor this year. A storm broke around 6pm bringing Thunder and Lightning in the area, so attendants had to find some cover as the threatening storm just missed the venue. When I say missed, I mean it barely missed – but the music cranked back up after a 30 minute delay. That didn’t deter the crazy fans that were eager to get started again.
This was my 4th Global Dance event I have covered and it only gets better and better each and every year!
The lights, the kids all dressed up in sometimes scantily clad outfits to show off their style and DJ’s spinning their hearts out for the more than appreciative crowd. Headbanging and pyrotechnics were the order of the day. One thing that stood out this year was I got to go on stage and get some amazing shots!
The DJ’s jumped, pumped and played their jams well into the Colorado night, with the storm passing through the fans got a huge relief of cooler weather as the night went on, which was a huge reprieve from the heat earlier in the day.
Overall I just couldn’t help myself jamming and headbanging my way with the huge crowd and taking pictures to record the fabulous opening day of Global Dance Day 1 2023.
