Walnut Creek’s The Story So Far let a crew of bands through a night of fun at the Summit Music Hall last Wednesday night in front of flying kids and mosh pits.

Just Friends opened the night with a rousing and hip set that included horns and dances highlighted by “S-T-U-P-I-D” while the crowd sang along. Hunny was up next, filling the room with a heavy – but happy – dose of emo (isn’t that the way emo works, anyway?), followed by the interesting sounds of The Frights.

Just Friends – Isn’t that the way emo works, anyway?

But the leader of the night came in a killer set of real emo superstardom by The Story So Far. Kids were flying above the crowd, surfing, crying, and laughing as they played songs like “Out Of It,” “Upside Down,” “Things I Can’t Change,” and “Take Me As You Please.”

Those boys from Walnut Creek know their emo, and everyone in the place knew it that night.
