After releasing their first album in 9 years, Cool it Down, they haven’t come close to losing their touch with their edgy post-punk sound. Their set started with “Standing at the Edge of the World,” featuring Mike Hadreas – AKA Perfume Genius, brilliantly ringing in a fantastic night of post punk pop.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs held their long-awaited first performance at Red Rocks since 2009.
On a soggy, rainy day threatening to wash out Red Rocks, the weather Gods decided that they wouldn’t interfere with Yeah Yeah Yeahs long-awaited first performance at Red Rocks since 2009. Karen O portrayed her best – singing, spinning and jumping her way to an amazing setlist ringing against the giant Rocks on both sides.
Accompanied by her bandmates – guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase – nobody left unsatisfied. It was good to hear their old fav’s like “Zero,” “Gold Lion,” and “Heads will Roll.” Ending the night with “Date with the Night” off their “Fever to Tell” album was a brilliant move.
What can you say about these guys! They may take their time releasing music, but they definitely still have the goods!
