When MCA and King AdRock announced a few years ago that the Beastie Boys would be delaying the release of their next album due to Adam Yauch beginning a battle with throat cancer, I don’t think anyone of us fans took the news lightly. But I also don’t think many of us ever thought the end would come this soon for such a legend of our generation. MCA passed today, losing that fight that I, for one, never thought he would.
Yauch, besides being one-third of the game changing Beastie Boys, was a tireless campaigner for Tibet, and a consummate buddhist by all accounts. We hope his cause continues with support, as his music no doubt will for a long time to come. Condolences to his family, friends and fans.
