Winter on the Rocks Celebrates Ten Years

Stars Diplo, SOFI TUKKER, Talib Kweli and more whip up music to keep back the wind – while dancing bodies turn up the heat.

The 10th annual Icelantic Winter on the Rocks show with Diplo, SOFI TUKKER, Talib Kweli, DJ Matt Cassidy and Jacoby was windy, but the amazing night of music and dancing were more than enough to keep us all warm on this night. Seeing these EDM superstars leading such an excited crowd through dances in such a legendary setting was incomparable, and I was happy to be able to be there. And there was no doubt – so were all the beautiful audience members, and the performers.

With the unpredictable Colorado winter nights it seems likely that many might be tempted skip this event, and stay home, nice and warm. But the brave and dedicated fans at Red Rocks that night knew that with the amount of dancing they’d be doing, they’d definitely be able to keep themselves plenty warm throughout the evening. Heavy bass drops helped to keep the wind at bay, and the audience dancing and grinding action had us all actually sweating soon enough.

Of course, whether in ski or snowboard suits or the typical, creative (and often skimpy) EDM outfits, fans of all ages came prepared (or not, in some cases), and witnessed some truly amazing performances.
