God, it was cold outside of the venue on the streets of Globeville. But the sounds inside the building from Tamara LindemanThe Weather Station – provided a warm edge. The Weather Station is a Canadian folk music band fronted by Tamara – or just Lindeman in the music world.

Lindeman is also an actress who starred in Guinevere Jones, The Nickel Children, and Whistler. Her thespian voice served its purpose as an Earth Warrior, as she spoke from the heart on global warming

Talk of global environmental crisis themes rang through the songs from Ignorance, the 2021 album that rang through most of the set.

The full band was tight as they cruised through:

  • Wear
  • Loss
  • Separated
  • Tried To Tell You
  • Robber
  • Heart
  • Parking Lot
  • Atlantic
  • Subdivisions

… with other songs intertwined throughout the show.

During the encore, Lindeman touched the crowd with a song off the newly released How Is It That I Should Look at the Stars, an album full of quiet and reflective group of songs. “To Talk About”, an emotional duet with guitarist Will Kidman (previously with the band Constantines), was intimately and beautifully awkward as they hit the notes of a new song over the piano.

Opener Helena Deland offered a beautiful set. Her voice captured songs from across her career. More on Deland.
